Update: January 2012
Between 1998 and 2007 writer Pedro Rosa Mendes and photographer Wolf Böwig reported on the West African wars.
Their work was published in leading magazines worldwide and nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in 2007.
Now, they are joining 15 storytelling artists from all over the world merging writings and photographs with drawings - stories of daily life and survival during the wars in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau and Ivory Coast.
A selected crew of international graphic storytellers will participate. The book will feature 15 stories on approximately 200 pages as a horizontal 36 cm x 28 cm format. These stories all have deep emotional importance the audience will perceive with this size.
The second component of this project is an international exhibition of the publication in countries such as Sierra Leone, Germany, Portugal, France and Italy. The regional aspect can be enlarged, if necessary.

The presentations will all be exhibited outside on the streets, with local structural conditions varying per location.
